WHAT IS REIKI?
USUI REIKI is an ancient hands-on healing art that intentionally channels CHI energies to promote balance and well being. It is a practical treatment, which activates the body’s natural healing process.
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese syllables, rei and ki (pronounced”ray key”), meaning Universal Life Energy. Rei represents the source of this energy and Ki represents the energy’s movement within and around us. Reiki’s ki energy carries many different names: God Power, Breath of the Great Spirit, Divinity, Cosmic Energy, Prana in Hindu and Chi in Chinese. There is unlimited supply of Reiki for us to tap into.
The “life force energy” surrounds us all, and all people have a certain degree of power to heal themselves and others. It is merely that some of us are more sensitive to the universal life connection and its transmission.
WHAT CAN REIKI DO?
Reiki can increase a sense of peace and well being, reduce stress, reduce pain, balance your body's energies and release energy blocks on all levels. Reiki works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels and accelerates the body's natural healing qualities. Reiki can be beneficial when used to complement medical or other health interventions. Reiki can change the negative patterns and unwanted habits in your life and can be sent to a specific situation that needs changing. Reik can ease one's transition at the end of life to a more comfortable less anxious time.
WHAT REIKI IS NOT
Reiki is not a religion, dogma or doctrine of specific beliefs. It is not a form of mind control or hypnosis. It is not a massage technique, and not just for when you are ill. It is not dependent on a certain state of mind and does not use up the practitioner's personal energy.
HOW IS A REIKI SESSION PERFORMED?
Typically a Reiki in- person or remote treatment takes 30-90 minutes. The client sits or lies comfortably, fully clothed.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
This depends completely on every individual's issues and needs. Some people require only one or two sessions, while others need quite a few before they notice significant change.
WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE DURING A TREATMENT?
The energy flows wherever it is required and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body.
It is possible that emotions and thoughts may surface. Physical symptoms may go through the healing process.
